The former post office cum residence at Graauw has been completely refurnished. The actual post office was located downstairs in a room separated from the living and diningroom. It is a bedroom now with a double bed and washbasin.
The house also has three bedrooms upstairs with a total of five beds, one of which is a double bed.
The cottage is semi detached and located midway on the village's main street, at nr.35.
It has a spacious, well-sealed backyard. In the village, the church bell still chimes both hours, and half-hours.
Leaving behind Graauw, the land soon gives way to the water: 'Finis Terrae', or endless space and views cast in silence. The Western "Schelde" river is within walking distance (2 km),as is the Drowned Land of Saeftinghe, at 4 km.
The Hedwigepolder lies at 6 km, behind wich can be found the abandoned village of Doel in Belgium.
Hulst, most Flemish city in the Netherlands, is located at 8 kms. The Arts and Trade of Antwerp are only 30 km from Graauw. The Belgian city of Gent, also, is in easy distance, at 40 kms.
Apart from silent,grassy, meadows and a creek, Graauw offers many bicycle paths and walking routes that lead over dikes and through "polders",a tenniscourt,a natural basin for the swimmers (at 2km in Paal) a short golfcourse at the nearby village of Lamswaarde (4km), an indoors skihall in Terneuzen and a golf course in Axel (golflicense obligatory).
In conclusion; Graauw is the ideal base for walkers, bikers, birdwatchers, and lovers of nature and the arts.
